Many experts are saying that the endocannabinoid system is regulating many body functions, including appetite, sleep, pain perception, memory, etc. The three main components of the endocannabinoid system are the enzymes, receptors, and endocannabinoids.

The receptors of the endocannabinoid system are present throughout the body and the endocannabinoids bind with them for several body functions. The enzymes break down the endocannabinoids.

CBD And Endocannabinoid System

CBD mainly interacts with the CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors of the endocannabinoid system. The CB1 receptors are mainly present in the central nervous system and the CB2 receptors in the peripheral nervous system.

The CB1 receptors are responsible for the regulation of your mood, memory, and several other functions. The CB2 cannabinoid receptors are mainly responsible for pain perception and inflammation. The CBD does not directly attach to these cannabinoid receptors, rather, it modifies these receptors’ ability to bind with the endocannabinoids.

When CBD interacts with the CB1 cannabinoid receptors, you will experience significant relief from pain. CBD’s interaction with the endocannabinoid system is very helpful in reducing the inflammation also. That is the main reason why many health experts are recommending CBD products for inflammatory disorders like arthritis.

Since the endocannabinoid system helps in the regulation of mood, its interaction with CBD will help in treating several mental health disorders like anxiety, stress, and depression.
